Western Suburbs RFC Today
Hey, we've been practicing for over a month and FINALLY we might get to play our first match of the season --- if the weather gods smile on us anyway...
We are playing the Virginia Beach RFC Falcons at our alternate home pitch this Saturday, March 29 at 1 pm. A- & B-sides.
We have Signal Hill Park field #1 in Manassas, VA reserved from 12-5pm.
NOTE: This is not our normal home pitch! Do not head out to Lough field! Manassas is no where near Lovettsville!
Party to follow at Bungalow's in Chantilly (13891 Metrotech Drive).
We need field setup crew volunteers for Saturday morning at 11 am. Email Elvis if you can help.
VERY IMPORTANT: No alcohol or driving on field or paved paths.
Don't forget your BLACK socks and BLACK shorts with requisite PBR logo!
Directions: From the North: Drive to Washington, D.C. Take the Beltway to 66 West in Virginia. Take 66 West to Rt. 28 south.
From Route 28 (Centreville Road) take Mana ssas Drive southeast over the railroad tracks to the 4-way stop sign, make a right onto Signal View Drive, the park will be on your right.
Use the address "9300 signal view drive, manassas park, va" if you want to create a map using Google maps.
From Koach Kris: "It's GAME TIME, boys, let's all get to practice, for a good scrimmage and good practice. Start thinking about the game and your role in this game. Everybody think of what is expected, from your position, we want to play basic, winning rugby. I will expect everyone to be great in his position. We will step up the intensity and discipline at practice, this week, make sure that you are not the person responsible for ill discipline. Let's get to practice early and get the most out of it.The club is counting on each individual to form a team which forms this club."
From Prez Bushy: "Thanks for the effort with dues and CIPP. Still a few loose ends to tie up but overall in good shape."
The Suburbs U-19s have a match this Friday night March 28 at 8 pm at the Word of Grace field on Redskin Drive (the old Redskins Park where we practiced last year).
Let's get out there and show our support.
Suburbs alum scrumhalf MATT CLARK'S A DAD!!!
From Matt: "Jack and Luke arrived at 9:30 am last Thursday March 21. Jack weighed 5lbs 10oz and Luke weighed in at 6lbs10oz. We just got back from the hospital yesterday and babies as well as mom are doing well. I on the other hand am a wreck since Gabs is pretty well incapacitated from the C-Section. I am in charge of waste management for these two characters which is a real treat for the senses. It is pretty amazing what these guys can generate but I suppose I've seen worse playing rugby. See ya later and keep me posted on any upcoming SOB stuff."
Congrats Matt!
